Hardwood Flooring Installation
in Vernon, BC
There’s something about hardwood floors that no other flooring can quite replicate. The warmth underfoot, the way natural grain catches the light, the feeling that your home has settled into exactly what you’ve always dreamt it to be.
If you’ve decided hardwood is the right choice for your space, the next decision matters just as much: who installs it.

At LINQ Flooring in Vernon, BC, we offer professional hardwood flooring installation for homeowners across the North Okanagan.
From the first conversation in our showroom to the final board laid down, every detail is handled in-house and with care.
Products We Offer In-Store
Hardwood Flooring
We carry a curated selection of solid hardwood flooring in a range of species, widths, and finishes, from classic oak to richer, more distinctive options.
Can’t find exactly what you’re looking for? We can custom order hardwood to match what you already have, including width and finish matching for renovation projects. Whether you’re adding to an existing floor or starting fresh, we’ll find the right fit.
Engineered Hardwood Flooring
Engineered hardwood offers the same beautiful wood finish as solid hardwood, with a construction that handles humidity and temperature changes a little more forgivingly.
It’s available in a wider range of colours and finishes (including the low-sheen, natural looks that are most popular right now), and comes in at a lower price point than solid hardwood.
Not sure which is right for your space? Come in and we’ll walk you through it.
Why Your Installer Makes All the Difference
Hardwood flooring is one of the most rewarding investments you can make in your home. It’s also one where the installation quality makes or breaks the result. A beautiful floor installed poorly will show; in gaps, in movement, in boards that don’t sit right.
LINQ’s installer is a perfectionist in the best possible sense. He shows up, works until the job is done, and takes care of details without being asked. Projects get completed on time. Stairs get done right. And when he leaves, the floor is exactly what it should be — because anything less isn’t something we’re willing to put our names on.
When you book your hardwood flooring installation through LINQ, that’s who shows up.
LINQ Flooring Installation Process
We offer 100% customer satisfaction guarantee.
Step 1:
In-Store Consultation and Site Survey
Every installation starts with a conversation. We want to know your space, your lifestyle, and what you’re hoping to achieve. From there, we schedule a site survey to assess your existing flooring, your subfloor, and the conditions that will determine the right installation method for your project. Hardwood can be installed glued down, nailed, or as a floating floor, and the right choice depends on your subfloor, your product, and where it’s being installed.
Step 2:
Product Selection and Custom Ordering
Once we understand your space, we help you find the right product. If you’re matching existing hardwood, for example, you’re adding a room addition and need the same width and species, we can custom order to spec. Local suppliers mean some products arrive in a couple of days. Custom or special orders typically take two to six weeks. We’ll be upfront about timelines so you can plan accordingly, and we’ll do our best to work within yours.
Step 3:
Site Conditioning and Preparation
Before installation begins, your new hardwood needs time to acclimate. We deliver the product to your home in advance so it can reach the right temperature and humidity level for your space. Hardwood expands and contracts with changes in its environment, and skipping acclimatization is one of the most common causes of problems down the road. Subfloor preparation happens at this stage too. If leveling, patching, or repair is needed before your new floor goes down, we take care of it.
Step 4:
Installation
This is where it comes together. Your hardwood is installed according to manufacturer guidelines, with every detail attended to, including transitions where your new floor meets existing flooring, custom milled stair nosings made from your actual planks, and stairs finished properly from top to bottom. We don’t cut corners on the finishing details, because that’s where you’ll notice the difference every single day.
LINQ Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed

We had three bedrooms, our hallway, two closets, laundry room and stairs completed. The installer, Francis did an amazing job. His many years of experience really showed in the quality of work and attention to detail. He was able to maintain harmonious lines with the click flooring from stairs, to hallway and all the rooms. He worked efficiently, completed the project on time and the finished product looks fantastic. He also answered all my questions about maintenance and care of the new flooring.
We also had a general contractor overseeing other parts of our renovation including plumbing, electrical, carpentry and painting. Our contractor commented on the quality of the flooring and also the installation. Our general contractor (who we have used before) has a keen eye for detail was very impressed with the work that Francis did.
These days you have to be carefull who you hire, as some companies have less experienced installers. LINQ flooring exceeded our expectations with both their products and installation services. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality flooring, skilled installers and outstanding customer service. Thank you LINQ flooring for a job well done.”

Why Choose LINQ

We’re a locally owned, independent flooring showroom in Vernon, BC; not a franchise, not a big box store. Tanya and Steve have built LINQ around the belief that your home deserves better than a transactional experience, and that means being genuinely invested in the outcome of every project.
We work with a small number of trusted tradespeople because quality matters more to us than volume. We only install flooring purchased through LINQ, because we stand behind everything we sell and everything we do. And we’re members of the Greater Vernon Chamber of Commerce and Vernon Women in Business because this community is ours too.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you install both solid hardwood and engineered hardwood?
Yes. The installation process is similar for both, and the right method depends on your subfloor, location, and the specific product. We’ll walk you through the differences during your consultation so you can make the right choice for your space and budget.
Do you remove old flooring before installation?
Yes, old floor removal can be included in our installation service for hardwood projects.
What if my subfloor needs repair?
We assess your subfloor as part of the site survey and address any leveling, patching, or repair needed before installation begins. If we find something unexpected once we start, we’ll let you know before any additional work proceeds.
Can you match my existing hardwood floors?
In most cases, yes. We can custom order hardwood to match your existing species, width, and finish (which is especially useful for additions or repairs). We’ve matched floors for clients across the North Okanagan, including as far as Salmon Arm.
Do you refinish hardwood floors?
Refinishing is a specialized service we don’t offer directly, but we’re happy to refer you to a trusted refinishing company. If your floor is beyond refinishing and you’re ready for something new, we’d love to help with that. Not sure what your options are? Take a photo and come down to our store, we’d be glad to help.
How long does installation take?
The installation itself depends on square footage and complexity. Factor in product lead time, as local stock can arrive in two to three days, while custom orders may take two to six weeks. We’ll give you a realistic timeline upfront.
Do you do stairs?
Yes, and we do them well. Stairs are one of the most detail-intensive parts of any hardwood installation and not every installer takes them on. They’re time-consuming, detail-heavy, and unforgiving; every tread, riser, and nosing has to be exactly right or it shows. Our installer is experienced and thorough, including custom milled stair nosings made from your actual hardwood planks.
Is there a warranty?
All installations come with a one year installation warranty. Product warranties vary by manufacturer and are outlined at the time of purchase. Either way, LINQ ensures 100% customer satisfaction on all of our installs.
